Campo Flores Tinto Orgánico
Current vintage 2021
Viticulture
Campo Flores Tinto is composed of Tempranillo & Syrah. We work with farmers in La Mancha who grow grapes much as they have done for centuries, cultivating vines on sandy, chalk soils, in a hot dry climate. With water sparse, the vines are widely spaced and less prone to disease. The growers have never used, nor needed chemicals. The Tempranillo is from old bush vines grown on meagre soil and is hand harvested. The Syrah is a more recent plantings and are harvested by machine, allowing for fruit to arrive at the winery in the cool of the morning.
Winemaking
Our old vine parcels are hand harvested and transported to the winery close by. The trellised fruit is picked early in the morning and this helps to retain freshness and lower sulphur levels. Fruit is destemmed and crushed prior to primary fermentation at moderate temperatures to retain the correct balance of freshness and soft tannins.
Tasting
Richly coloured, Campo Flores tinto is packed with summer fruits, spice and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is succulent and juicy with touches of bramble and liquorice. Hugely moreish, delicious and organic!
